TLDR : Answer Summary
The adult child (age 20) cannot be included as a dependent in the mother's DTV application. Once a child turns 20, they are classified as an adult and must apply for their own visa separately. Thai immigration does not recognize adult children as dependents for visa purposes, meaning they will need to pursue a different visa option on their own.

You can't have an adult child dependent on your DTV. It is possible to get an adult child dependent visa but you need to be on a long term non-immigrant visa first. It's also going to need medical certification and agreement from immigration so its a difficult option to get.

No such thing as an adult child dependent. They are either a child or an adult.

- Not sure if there is an exception though for adult children with severe developmental limitations. Hence why I asked her if there is a reason why she was call him a dependent

DTV_BegPecker there is no such thing as an adult child. They are either a child with severe developmental limitations or an adult with severe developmental limitations. Both can be a dependent.

Answered it yourself already, your child is an adult. Being an adult will have to apply for their own visa completely separate to your own application.

Why do you consider the child a dependent? Most likely not recognized by the Thai government as a dependent
