TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to apply for the extension of stay in Thailand based on retirement up to 35 days in advance of your current visa's expiration. The specifics can vary by location; for example, offices in Bangkok and Chiang Mai allow applications when there are 45 days or less remaining, while other offices may allow it at 30 days or less. It's important to note that the new extension will start from the original due date.

Bangkok & Chiang Mai allow you to apply for an extension of stay when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp. Other immigration offices allow you to do it when you have 30 or less.

No matter when they let you do it, they always ADD the yearly extension onto the expiration of your current stamp, My extension based on retirement always expires on April 5th no matter when I apply for the next years extension.

Definitely and you will start your extension of stay date from the due date, no less no more. Your under consideration report date can be the same day as due date if officer wants to.
