Hello! I'm new here so please let me know what I should do about this this visa issue.

Do you know if it's possible to apply for a 60 day tourist visa while already staying in Thailand on a VOA?

To be more specific: I'm currently in Singapore and I booked a trip to Thailand for this Friday. I was planning to stay 2 weeks on a VOA, but now I changed my mind and I'm planning to stay 40 days. Since my flight is in 3 days, I don't think I will have enough time to apply for a visa at the embassy here in Singapore. So I'm wondering if I can apply for it online and get it while I'm already in Thailand. Thank you!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether it is possible to apply for a 60-day tourist visa while currently in Thailand on a Visa on Arrival (VOA). Responses indicate that applying for a tourist visa while in Thailand is not permitted, and the VOA cannot be extended. The suggestion is to leave Thailand and apply for the visa at a consulate.

:

If you have Romanian Passport, VOA is 60 days I thought ? You buy it at the airport ? Ask in Thai visa advice group. They know for sure !

Apparently my passport can't even apply for an eVisa so I'd have to make the border run either way. I don't understand why Thailand has the most complicated visa policies in SEA.

the website you referred to is wrong, it talks about buying this "visa on arrival" in advance for eye watering sums of money. The attached provides the actual days, including from 1 October.

@Darren ******
. Not all VOA are 15 days.

Yeah, this is not correct.

15 days at the airport. A tourist visa obtained outside Thailand would give 60 days

No

You can’t apply for a tourist visa in Thailand. A VOA can’t be extended. You’d need to leave after the 15 days and apply in a nearby consulate. Depending on your nationality you may have to return to your home country to obtain.
