Denied 1 year extension of stay based on marriage because I only had tax record for 2 out of 3 previous months given that I left my old job and was not employed in September. Did however have all tax records for the previous 14 months including this october (just not September), and a letter from my current employer. Immigration told us on the phone that it would be fine if we had the letter and the previous year's tax records. Got there and they told us no.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post describes a situation where a one-year extension of stay based on marriage was denied due to insufficient tax records for the previous three months, despite having prior tax records and a letter from the employer. The comments provide insights and advice on the requirement of proof of income or sufficient funds for the extension, including the need for a minimum of three months’ tax contributions or having at least 400,000 THB in the bank.
, he was getting an extension of stay based on marriage and using employment in thailand as the way to show the 40K baht a month income,. He did NOT need the consulate affidavit of income if he had the 3 months of tax documentation.
I haven't "worked" in Thailand since owning a footwear manufacturing firm last century and I haven't had a day job in years. The Thai consulate has always accepted a copy of a non Thai checking account and the first page of the most recent non Thai brokerage account statement as proof of financial means.
Mike Curl since you have it, bring it down as well. What I did each year was to bring down affidavit from embassy and tax records in TH. Whatever I have no harm. They are fickle. At least whatever they don’t need, they will pass it back to you. They keep what they need. More important.
Nice, be a bit clearer told by some one who is talking about a non existing "Marriage Visa". It is a Non Immigrant O visa or an Extension of Stay for both based on Marriage with a Thai citizen
And I don’t trust the people on the phone. They don’t even sit at the desk processing the applications. Those ladies sitting at the counters more important.
