TLDR : Answer Summary
To transition from a work visa to a marriage visa in Thailand, ensure you are currently on an extension based on employment rather than a work visa. Cancel your employment extension using documents from your employer, and apply for a new extension based on your marriage to a Thai national. Visit the immigration office with your Thai husband to get a list of requirements for this switch.

Let's go with the premise that you're actually not on a "work visa" but on a yearly extension of stay based on employment from the immigration office.

In that case, you would cancel your extension based on employment using documents from your employer, and then you will immediately apply for a new extension based on marriage to a thai.

You should go to your immigration office with your thai husband, and get the hand out listing the requirements to switch the reason for your extension

If you're on an extension you will NOT be switching ANY visa at all, you will only be changing the reason for your extension from one based on employment to one based on marriage to a thai national.

that's gonna be the problem :( because to get a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai you have to live WITH the spouse because the immigration office does an in home visit to make sure the marriage is real and talk to your neighbors, take photos etc.

GO to your immigration office and get the hand out that lists the requirements to get a year extension based on marriage AND tell them your husband doesn't live with you. You might not even be able to do it at all :(

Kerrie Ross you do NOT veto your Non-B, in fact you have NO none by vbisa now at all, you are on a yearly extension of stay and all you're doing is changing the reason from an extension based on employment to one based on marriage

GO to your immigration office and get the hand out that lists the documentation you need to apply for a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai mail

I think IF you looked in your passport you'd see that there is no such thing as a "work visa" AND that the stamp actually says "extension of stay permitted until" with a date on it

It's right under the location of the office you got the extension from :)

Then you would follow what I said about switching the reason for your extension

and I am telling you NOW to look in your passport and READ the stamp you have. It will say "extension of stay" you don't have ANY visa now, you're on an extension (just like thousands of people who work here are)

There is NO year long work visa, :( You have a yearly extension and are only changing the reason for your extension.

That you don't believe me doesn't mean that the information I'm telling you is wrong. :(

And how about we start with are you currently now on a non-B VISA <- that you got from a thai consulate in another country OR if you are on an extension of stay <- that you got from the immigration office here?
