My husband and I are UK citizens. Ideally we would like to apply for a 90 day Non-Immigration O Visa before leaving the UK. Upon arrival in Thailand I will deposit 800,000THB into my account and get the extension. Subsequently my husband will tag on as my trailing spouse. Has anyone gone down this route?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK couple is seeking advice on obtaining a 90-day Non-Immigration O Visa, with plans to deposit 800,000 THB in Thailand to qualify for a visa extension. One commenter suggests both spouses apply for Non-O visas based on retirement from the UK as they may not qualify for a 90-day Non-O visa based on trailing spouse status. It's also crucial to have their marriage certificate legalized before entering Thailand to avoid complications. Another user asks about the timeline for applying for the 90-day visa in the UK prior to their travel date.

Any idea what the earliest point is that you can apply for the 90 day visa while still in the uk? We don’t fly over till 5 Feb but I like to get my boxes ticked
if you BOTH apply for Non-O visas (based on retirement) in the UK (they won't issue 90 day Non-O based on trailing spouse) and then come in, you get the money banked, do the year extension and then have your husband apply for the trailing spouse extension it MIGHT work OR it might not..
You make sure you get that brit marriage certificate legalized BEFORE you wing your way here as you can't do it once you're here. It's done thru Milton Keynes, post on a brits in thailand and ask about the process, That WILL throw you off the rails if you don't have it done before you come here because you'd have to mail it back to get it done.
