I have a question regarding tm30. If you are staying in a guesthouse, how to obtain the tm30? Is it a Form i have to get from the emmigration or something the guesthouse does anyway from here?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain your TM30 while staying in a guesthouse in Thailand, the guesthouse owner is responsible for registering you and providing a receipt as proof of this registration. You should ask the guesthouse for a printout or a copy of their TM30 registration, as many immigration offices require a hard copy of this receipt, not just a digital record. If you are staying with a Thai family, they also need to register you at the local immigration office. The registration process and required documents may vary by immigration office.

And if you stay with a Thai family etc they must register you on a TM 30 at your local immigration.

this is helpful to know. Must they go to the IO to do this or can they do it online? What documents would they be asked to show to be able to register me? Tia for your advice

Sadly, it depends on the immigration office, and their policy.

For the documents, it depends on the immigration office. See the FILES section in the group for the specific files.

For the applications, see below

You MUST use a Thai IP address (that means they must be in Thailand, physically) for these applications to work.

If you have specific questions, please make your own post. Thank you.

The landlord is responsible for the tm30. As long as the address you put on the Tm7 matches what the landlord has recorded on the tm30 then you don't really need anything.

As Ellie says, in at least 3 different provinces I have been asked for either a printout of the web TM30 entry, or a paper notification of receipt.

Actually, many immigration offices require you have a hard copy of one type of receipt as a moderator showed above, not only recorded in the system.

Ask the guesthouse a print screen of copy of the registration they made as that is what you need.

The guesthouse owner is supposed to report you and give you a receipt.
