German national - If I get a 30 day tourist entry with a potential 30 day extension, can I leave the country (by air) and return to get the same 30 day with a potential 30 day extension? Or does this ~60 day is the total for 360 days? Like a maximum stay of 60 days for a year?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A German national can initially enter Thailand with a 30-day tourist visa, which can potentially be extended for another 30 days at a local immigration office. If they leave the country, it is possible to re-enter and obtain another 30-day visa exempt entry, provided they do not have a recent history of prolonged stays in Thailand. However, if the intention is to stay for a longer period, considering a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) before flying to Thailand is advisable, as it offers numerous entries and up to 9 months of stay with border crossings.

IF you are planning to stay LONGER in Thailand, suggest you get the METV multiple entry tourist visa in your home country before you fly to Thailand. With planning it can get you up to 9 months stay in Thailand with a few simple LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries into Thailand.

These are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. Be sure you have a TM30 address registration on file with Thai Immigration.

Yes you can get a Visa Exempt Entry into Thailand by air or land.

You will get a 30 day stamp on arrival plus One 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

IF you want to stay longer you can do a simple LAND BORDER BOUNCE to get a New 30 day Visa Exempt Entry STAMP.

PLUS one 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office.

You can do a maximum of 2 LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries into Thailand Visa EXEMPT.

Also you could fly out and re-enter Thailand if you want and IF you don't have a recent history of staying in Thailand.

You most likely won't have any issue

BUT

if all you're wanting to do is bounce out and back to get a new free 30 day entry stamp just bounce out-n-back by LAND with a service who takes people to the border and back every day in the area of thailand where you stay.

thank you for your reply, so there is no maximum limit of total days to stay in Thailand per year is this correct?

Ok, that might answer my question, maximum 120 days in total.

Not looking for a free ticket to live visa free, it should be the official way always.

@Chris *****
you aren't gonna live here on free entry stamps and 30 day extensions if that's what you're asking ๐Ÿ˜› You're allowed two 30 day free entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)

@Chris *****
you are not going to be able to Stay in Thailand using Visa Exempt Entry, extensions and tourist visas. There's going to be a time when Thai Immigration Officers question you and possibly DENIED entry and sent back to Germany at your expense. They are more strict now than before COVID.

@Chris *****
no official limit but every entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer you stand in front of

There is no official law. But you can't do it forever. It always depends on the immigration officer who is checking on you.
