Hi asking for a friend who’s not on Facebook.
My friend is currently on non-b visa with work permit (school teacher) but his contract is not been renewed.
Before this he was always on non- o marriage visa and used to do the border run to Laos to obtain this.
When his non-b / contract expires can he apply for non-o marriage visa (3 month) in country?
He is looking for another job so hopefully won’t require to do this but if the new job hunt is unsuccessful can he do what I asked above?
If possible Can anyone confirm to me that the funds are required to be shown in immigration?
As when he was acquiring his previous non - o marriage visa in Laos no funds had to be shown.
Sorry if wording of visa / extension is not correct but I’m sure everyone understands what my mate is asking?
Thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual on a Non-B visa, currently employed as a school teacher, wishes to know if they can switch to a Non-O marriage visa after their employment ends, particularly if they are unable to secure another job. Responses indicate that they can apply for a change of visa type at the immigration office, but will need to cancel their current extension of stay based on employment first. Additionally, clarification is requested on whether funds must be shown when applying for a new visa based on marriage; however, past experiences suggest funds may not be required when applying for certain temporary extensions.
