How do I change my Non-B Visa to a Non-O (Marriage) Visa while working in Thailand?

Can anyone give me some advice, please? As I’m married to a Thai wife, I’d like to know how to change from Non B Visa to Non O(marriage visa), while I’m still working and living in Thailand. And would it affect my work permit? My Non B visa also has not been expired yet.

FYI: I‘ve already done the research about what essential documents I need to prepare to get marriage visa. Just don’t know where to start and change from Non B to Non O.

Thank you very much in advance, guys.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on switching from a Non-B visa related to employment to a Non-O marriage visa while still working in Thailand. Key steps include visiting the local Immigration Office with their Thai wife to gather necessary documents and notifying their employer about the visa switch. It is recommended to apply for the new visa when close to the expiration of the current extension, as changing reasons for an extension is common and does not affect the work permit.

as you are on an extension of stay you won't be changing ANY visa (you're not on a Non-B now and you won't be getting a Non-O)

All you're doing is changing the reason for your extension from one based on employment to one based on marriage to a thai.

Go to your immigration office with your thai wife, get the hand out listing the requirements for a year extension based on marriage. Get a letter from your employer stating they know you are switching reasons to an extension based on marriage and have no issue with it and then when you have 30 days or less left on your current extension go apply for a new yearly extension based on marriage for 1900baht. You'll get a 30 day under consideration stamp (they might do an in home visit during that time) and then you go back to get the year extension inked in.

People change reasons for extensions all the time.

Wait until your actual extension expires, then change. They do not want to change during your actual visa period.

Until you are a little more than 1 month away from your Non-B extension to expire, you don't really need to do anything. No, changing into Non-O over Non-B doesn't influence your work permit.

You start by visiting the local Immigration Office to ask what documents are needed to apply for the Extension of Stay based on being married to a Thai National and by showing your passport you ask in which period you can apply for this Extension.

LOOK in your passport. Do you have a stamp that says "extension of stay based on employment", OR do you have a full page sticker that says "Non-B visa"?
