Yes, it is theoretically possible for a foreigner (Farang) to obtain Thai citizenship or a passport, but the process is very difficult and lengthy. Requirements include having a long-term work permit, often needing several years of residency, and proficiency in the Thai language. Many commenters mention that while some individuals have succeeded, there are still considerable challenges and uncertainties, including strict criteria and limited approvals per nationality. Overall, many expats suggest the disadvantages may outweigh any benefits.

When considering with the effort, money and time it is not worth at all. I don't see any special benefits with a Thai passport to live in Thailand and travelling to other countries.
u can do every job you want and you can own land... If u like thailand that's they best u can get

For starting you need to declare minimum 80 000 baht income on your work permit for 3 years and register a yellow book for your address... There is also a waiting list by nationality and a Thai exams with several meetings with officials.(Just do a Thai children and put lands on his name if that's the purpose)

For most people, there is no advantage or reason to have a Thai passport, especially if they have to give up their original passport. It is possible to do if your whole life is now in Thailand, you have long term job or business and can speak Thai, although the speaking Thai part perhaps is relaxed in some circumstances. After several years in Thailand I am yet to actually meet anyone in person who has done this but have come across a few online.

Recommend you search for, and join this group "Thai citizenship group." There's a lot of good knowledge and experience in this group on obtaining both permanent residence and citizen status.

It's one of the worst voluntary grouos with loads of people with useless information and that's only trumped by questions by some people who need to look at the same questions with the same answers. Switch the lights out and go to bed

What for? Their passoport doesn't allow to go almoast anywhere, keep your passport very tight
it would be worth it to have them follow you round all those places with a ridiculous foreigner fee shouting HAVE TO PAY and then see the inevitable confused face when presented with a Thai ID card.
try going to somewhere like Wat Arun and walking straight in and not paying your 200 baht ‘foreigner ticket’ and see how far you get before someone starts shouting at you.
Prova ad andare in un posto come Wat Arun, entra direttamente e non pagare il biglietto da 200 baht per stranieri e vedi fin dove riesci ad arrivare prima che qualcuno inizi a urlare contro di te.
, listen. My was a sarcasm. What i meany was: yhey want have thai passport to not pay the visa that costs little, one a year? Regarding shooting, mind your words.
I have all 3, there’s a few other items like donations charity. Before you apply 3 years track record of donations to charity mom 5,000 baht a year, is the number. I’m trying to get the wp up. Also no breaks not one day. Otherwise you start again on the 3 years. Once your under application can’t break either.
many people fulfil the upset requirements but almost everyone still get a rejection. Even those with an inside track like long time close friendship with chief of immigration or police or military. Best of luck though, but you still have a better chance of winning the lottery.
absolutely not true. It's extremely easy to get citizenship, the process just takes many many years. Go join "Thai Citizenship Group" and you can read about countless people who apply each year.
yes, you know 2 people of a million that was qualified but still got rejected. TiT and there’s no such thing as a sure thing here. Don’t you know that?
I know 15 who come from same country who have it, maybe you just not fit to have it, and only max 100 from 1 country can have it in a year and remeber you get one person to check with you like a babysitter do he not like how you are you not get it....!! In my country on 170 get it every year from all over the world,,,,, and the goverment ask you to come in to a talk if they not like you or you have post stupid thing online last 10 years you nit get it, so maybe you just not going enough to get it. Already with what you wrote about police you never get it... You too stupid...
I wouldn’t even want Thai citizenship. I’m perfectly happy not bothering about that, I have my citizenship and content with that. You don’t sound to smart if you want someone to babysit you, maybe you can’t wipe your own a..
off course. However this part of the system can’t be bribed. You have to have the correct paperwork or you don’t qualify. And the longest part is waiting for the king to sign off.
absolutely correct. Impossible to bribe for citizenship. I have friends with more money than god and that are close friends with chief of immigration and top military (no names necessary) and even they can’t get citizenship.
hahaha do you like your self, losser like you always think they are better, but in the end you cry every night and run from your past life full of dirt... Run my friend. Run.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
can you guys repeat the whole conversation except in Swedish and Danish please? It would be very entertaining and also interesting to language geeks like me 555
i have apply, and was in it for 2 years but need to come back to my home country because of sickness, so know how it works, not so difficult to do, just remember you need to be a perfect role model, you get one thai to follow your life for a period, so do you have work, good for Thailand, you get it, are you not, you not get it, 15 of friends have it, they also come from Denmark, and remember in my country only 170 get it every year, and can first apply after 10 years, and you need to talk, write, understand Danish and you have to have min 10 years in the country, and have pay tax min. 8 years, have to be married to Danish, have to have earn min 60.000 USD every years in salary, so Thailand is so much more easy then my home country, and remember today it is point system in Thailand and can you not convince the guy who follow you you can speak fluent Thai, understand Thai and also understand some writing.. then you not get it, and all who complain in this post do not...
