Has anyone ever been denied entry into Thailand on a DTV, e.g. because of not taking part in the soft power activity anymore or not meeting the 500k requirement anymore?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether individuals have been denied entry into Thailand on a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), specifically due to failing to meet the financial requirement of 500,000 baht or discontinuing involvement in the designated soft power activities. Current comments suggest that while there are no widespread reports of denial, there are indications that immigration officers have the discretion to question visa holders. Some participants advise verifying details directly with immigration authorities, as official sources may provide the most accurate guidance. Overall, while experiences vary, many users urge adherence to visa conditions to avoid potential issues.
Every person who has asked this or says it happened to them posts as anonymous, and never provides proof because it simply doesn't happen.
However, it's pretty silly not to adhere to the conditions of your visa.

Have you seen anyone say that they got denied entry, even anonymously? I have not seen that, hence I am asking.
Is there a condition that you need to maintain the 500k or need to keep being enrolled in the activity? I have not seen a concrete statement about it either way.
The reason I am posting anonymously is that this group is public. Anyone can search my name on Google, find my posts and piece together information about it.

Anonymous participant Your motive is very clear to some of us. You want to make life more difficult for others.

Anonymous participant Yes, nearly every day. It's all nonsense without proof and when pressed for proof they usually delete the post or turn off comments.
As with many things in Thailand, you might need to dig very deeply to find the information about the ongoing conditions or they might not even exist, yet. It can all change very quickly so I think it's best to maintain the conditions so they have no reason to refuse you entry.
Each time I've re-entered Thailand with my DTV it has been a very smooth process. Hand over passport with printed Visa, stamp, welcome back to Thailand.

You donโt need to keep the 500k

Not a trend at the moment but can you read the future? No?! Well, it seems some people individuals here can. ๐ฎ๐๐คก Wish them good luck... As suggested, you may ask that question to some immigration officer instead of random crowd here (for most without long-term visa experience). Happened on other visas types such as ED.
In the meantime, feel free to read some OFFICIAL information (the one that most don't even read before commenting):
However, with over 80 Thai Immigration offices in Thailand along with multiple entry points by land, air and sea...
The application of the so-called rules, indeed are subject to the varied interpretations by the Thai immigration officers and those in charge of each Thai Immigration office.

Anonymous participant 781 How would I ask immigration. Up on entry, by email or going there? I would imagine I might get no answer or some generic one.

Anonymous participant In my opinion... best to not ask... why stir the pot ๐ค Enjoy your DTV visa.

You should ask this question to immigration, only they have this info. When sombody tells he is questioned, the conspiricy thinkers immediately start defaming the poster, so when somebody of the members here really was refused entry, I don't think he would dare to tell this here. With the low percentage of checks it can take some time, but you can be sure at a certain moment they check an offender and take action, not necessary refusing entrance.
How should I ask this question at immigration? At the airport or go somewhere? I think I might not get an answer or a generic one.
People getting questions doesn't necessarily mean that anyone gets denied entry. It could also be that some individual immigration officers decide to question people, but that when they check with their higher ups they always say to let people in.

Have you? Or this is just an imaginary question ka ?

I have not. The reason I am asking is that I see that some people seem to be pulled aside for additional questions. But if no one has ever "failed the test," then there is nothing be afraid of really.

Anonieme deelnemer When you not comply with the requirements, you have to be afraid, when you comply you have nothing to fear.
It's unclear to me what the requirements are. I'm applying for soft power, so do you need to keep being enrolled in cooking classes? Do you need to maintain the 500k in my bank account or can I move it back to my brokerage?

Anonymous participant People with old ED in passport may pulled a side for some investigation , As well airport immigration has the right to ask to show the fund proof from you bank App. ,for those on workaction style DTV , can be requested to show some documents related to his remote work. Although those cases are rare to happen, yet it can happen and that is all based on the vision of the airport immigration officer , ( you can find some posts here talk about something similar) ka
i had ED before dtv. Never been asked anything, i got my workcation dtv august '24. Havent seen any posts regarding this on the group? (Anonymous dont count). Also important to note that maybe some nationalities have more screening than others?
why you take one line.of what we said and try to act na ka ? We already said rare to happen ,yet it can happen. And yes some nationalities are under monitoring more than others... please when we say something we are not here to argue or go in a long discussion.. we are answering according to what may happen and what usual happen nothing less or more ka , thank you
i stated my own experience, and said i havent seen a post here about the subject like you said, thats all. I didnt ask anything so you wouldnt need to react..
You did indeed not answer the author directly, but I just notice the discrimination of Anonymous posters here by a group of members from which you are just one.
It starts to be annoying to see everywhere that anonymous posters don't count, as you just said or are defamed as liars, fearmongerers and trolls.
That is not how decent people should talk about others.
and i fully understand them, i was about to buy one just 1month before they put out the dtv, because it was my only option to continue living here. Consider myself very lucky
You treat anonymous users different from non-anonymous users, that simply is discriminating.
You can have your own opinion, and you are even free to believe or not believe others experiences, but openly attack others because they post anonymous and have a different EXPERIENCE is just not OK.
The idea that anonymous posters are elite visa buyers is just a conspiricy theory or do you have any proof of this?
Why should an elite visa holder with a much better visa post here anonymous telling about experiences that just might be true?
For any visa, maybe even elite visa, but certainly DTV visa there will be checks, and it is only a matter of time when irregularities are discovered.
Taking into account the number ofissued DTV visa and the number of abusers my guess is they already will have stopped some.
I actually do hope they start to for example, ask for soft power continuing, thats something decent and appropriate... what it comes to funds, its a lot bigger picture there, because it would affect every retiree here too, that hitting global news would seriously do harm to the country I believe. But yes they have the right to do it, if they want. I dont think they want. Tourism is going down all the time, I doubt they would start making things more difficult
handled on extension, not on entry, just like dtv. I think you got my point now. And no i didnt say elite visa holders post anything, read again, slowly...
at extension the whole last year is checked, so on paper it should be completely correct. Checking extra at entry by immigration officers would make it look like immigration officers at the offices don't do their job correct. I rest my case.
i didnt say anonymous posters are elite visa buyers, i just gave an example what kind of envy there might be... you are not understanding me too much so i'll stop with you now, take care
You say there might be elite visa buyers posting experiences that are not true. I understand you perfectly, but I hate people calling other people liars and fearmongerers without any proof at all. You don't have to believe everything, but unless you have strong evidence, you just should not suggest such things. And just a well meant advice, be very carefull with these kind of things because defamation can be strongly punished in Thai law, even when you have prove the other did something wrong.
I know, but if you only respond this way to someone who is anonymous, you're actually demonstrating that you're discriminating and not responding to the content. It would be good for the group if other (anonymous) posters weren't spoken about so disrespectfully.
You can still have a discussion about a different opinion, but questioning an experience without any evidence is simply disrespectful.
we all can have our own opinions, and the other readers make up their own based on what they read. You too. Lets allow everyone to make up their own conclusions okay? I didnt discriminate anyone, I just stated i havent seen any non-anonymous (or even anonymous) post on the subject. Even if I saw an anonymous one, i would just skip that. Since dtv was published, many elite visa buyers went nuts, so you never know do you :)
