Support needed 🙏
I’m reaching out because I’m feeling extremely shaken and honestly quite scared after my recent experience with my DTV application and Thai immigration.
My name is Francesca, I’m a freelancer from Italy with stable income, savings, taxes paid in Italy, and I meet all the official DTV requirements.
I went to Vietnam to apply for the DTV, but unfortunately my application was rejected without any explanation, even though all requested documents were submitted correctly and met the guidelines.
After the rejection, I tried returning to Thailand simply as a traveler, genuinely believing there would be no issue because I had never overstayed and never done visa runs.
My stays in Thailand had only been:
• Feb 17 – March 6
• March 19 – May 17
At immigration I was denied entry and the experience became very intense. I was kept in a room for hours without understanding what was happening, spoken to very aggressively, and eventually told they believed I was using tourist entries too continuously. I was then forced to book a flight back to Italy.
The difficult part is that Thailand truly became home to me. I already have a 1-year lease, a bike, belongings, close community, and the life I’ve been building there. My intention has always been to stay legally and properly, which is why I applied for the DTV in the first place.
My next plan is to apply again directly from Italy, but after everything that happened I honestly feel very anxious and uncertain.
I was wondering if anyone here has:
• been rejected for DTV the first time and approved the second time,
• experienced something similar with Thai immigration,
• or has any advice or guidance on the best next steps.
I would deeply appreciate any support or insight. Thank you so much 🙏
