I have a DTV visa but I am going to get a DTV visa for my wife and my child who is 4 years old. We are planning to apply for it in Kuala Lumpur. Is there a chance that the DTV visa for them could be denied? And how long does the process usually take for a family DTV visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The chances of getting a DTV visa for your wife and child in Kuala Lumpur may be lower compared to other locations due to stricter approval processes at the Thai embassy there. Many expats report that applying in Hanoi or other nearby countries, such as Bali or Penang, is much easier and faster, sometimes taking as little as two days. While approvals can happen in Kuala Lumpur, delays and additional documentation requests have been common, leading to suggestions to consider alternative locations for applying.

For the past months, I have heard the most extra documentation requests, and delays from KL. Bali and Hanoi were the easiest.

Not sure about the update though but based on the past responses, best to go to hanoi

KL is the strictest embassy for DTV approval. Penang is easier. Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia are very "friendly" embassies.

I suggest you should apply at Hanoi. Thai embassy in Hanoi is very easy way to get dependent DTV visa.
