We’re on the DTV. Upon getting a place to rent, we paid rent via Wise until we got a bank account. Wise is very easy to sign up for. It transfers our USD to our Thai bank account within a minute or two.

I think most landlords wouldn’t care how the money got to them as long as they get it. The only thing you might run into is I’ve noticed a lot of locals don’t know what Wise is. I used it to buy a car and the guy had to take a day or two and make sure it was legit lol.

All we needed was the security deposit and passport info.

I will say, just do your best to get a great landlord. There’s a lot of people here who have experienced pretty bad landlords and it can be costly. We held out on signing any paperwork until we got to meet our landlord in person to make sure all was good ✌🏻
