they will tell him that next time also.

At some point, if they determine there is a visa that suits your situation, they will tell you to get it sorted for next entry. If you legit there for tourism, no problem. If they think you are working, or trying to live there, you will understandably have problems with Thai immigration

be prepared as they may well question you for details. And rightly so. It’s a long time. They just want to ensure ur not working and truly there for tourism. Wise to sort out the ED visa

luckily you don't get to choose the amount of time for tourism. There is no limit.
