Thanks everyone for your responses. I have asked around a bit more about this and it seems that yes, for new visas (given by an embassy/consulate overseas), you may indeed encounter this issue. Thankfully I’ve already got my visa and am just looking to extend it. If your foundation is well vetted and above board, I’ve been told extending, even with followers, should be ok. I’m still wary, though.
