I just flew in on a one way ticket August 25 from America. No one asked for an onward ticket when I checked in and received all of my boarding passes and immigration just stamped me through and welcomed me when I arrived.

Yes I know the requirements. Bangkok airways and Viet Jet has flights to Cambodia and Vietnam for 50-75 dollars every day if you want to be on the safe side.
