Yeah, expat insurance. Global annual travel insurance gives 30 days coverage per country, and probably won't cover things like cancer treatment. It will just cover enough to get you well enough for medevac.

Generally the effect is to reduce the effectiveness of diabetic meds for a short period.

The doctor gave you 5mg and 10mg of each, according to a previous reply you gave. You say you aren't bad mouthing doctors, yet here you are with some sort of lie. What that doctor gave you is a perfectly normal dose at the low end.

According to what he said, he feels too ill to travel, not an airline decision

Explain why you are not reconsidering getting back to the UK. You think you are dying, so what is 11 hours of discomfort compared to having a fighting chance. You will still be in discomfort sitting at home. In worst case scenario, you have pancreatic cancer. It might have been there years, but is triggered by stress (being knocked out). If so, you might have 12-16 weeks left. Of course, it's probably not that. Could well be a parasitic worm.

Offering help. Help being either see a local doctor or get on a plane and see a UK doctor. And use NHS online service to get some kind of triage.

Well, you have been less than forthcoming about all the facts. You were in relatively poor health before being knocked out in the UK (how? fight? car crash? sports), you left without seeking advice while there, you not said when the diagnosis of concussion was actually made (the diagnosis needs to be done right away). You were well enough to be sarcastic to an honest question. You were slow to reveal the medication given, which turns out to be entirely normal for pain management. You've been repeatedly told these drugs would only be in your system a few weeks, but keep ignoring that. You did bad mouth a doctor, because you criticised his appearance, and then accused others of covering up. Given the frailty of your health (diabetes, no gall bladder, possible pancreatic cancer) before coming back to Thailand, you should have stayed in the UK. As it is, unless you see a doctor, you are likely to further deteriorate. No Facebook Miracle.

Well I am a Doctor of Microbiology. But my answer would be the same as a MD; no, I and they could not tell you that your muscles will continue to atrophy and that you will enter organ failure based on what you have said. You board a flight, and in 11 hours , take yourself to St Barts. Or, with a VPN, try out the NHS 111 online service. Its actually quite good at triaging, though I suspect it wll say take yourself to hospital. Your initial post was odd, first bad mouthing a nameless doctor and hospital, and then saying you're dying.
