Does anyone know the tax rules on the new dtv visa? I have been told by my agent everything I send from my uk bank to a Thai bank will be taxed.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The tax implications of the new DTV visa indicate that funds sent from a UK bank to a Thai bank are subject to taxation for anyone, confirming the agent's advice. Additionally, individuals who stay in Thailand for more than 186 days in a year become tax residents, which affects their tax obligations.

Andrew RN which one? Might be true that the implementation is not finalise, is it ever anywhere. Here is the last statement I am aware of that originated from the RD. BTW no laws have been changed, only thing new is the removal of the 1 year delay in reporting and the RD has been instructed to enforce the existing laws fully. There is a proposal to tax global income and that I believe is the only area not finalised.

Anonymous participant if u can prove you had the money in your bank before 1st jan 2024, then that money will not be taxed. You must keep records.
