Is it better to stay in a hotel instead of a condo when extending a 60-day tourist visa in Bangkok to avoid TM 30 issues?

I'll be going for an exetnsion on my 60 day tourist visa next week in Bangkok. I'm staying in a condo at the moment, but would checking into a hotel be a better idea for a few nights to avoid any TM 30 issues? I ask because I assume hotels are reporting properly, where as condo owners likely are not. And if I do that, do I need to ask for anything from the hotel as proof of my stay before heading down for the extension?
