What is required as proof of residence when moving from a Non-Immigrant B visa to a retirement visa in Thailand if I'm living in a condo without paying rent?

Good evening. Soon hoping to move from non imm B to retirement. I think I understand the procedure and documents. Just have one question about proof or residence, as I will move to a condo which is not mine but I will not need to pay rent. Wil this create an issue ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When transitioning from a Non-Immigrant B visa to a retirement visa in Thailand, proof of residence is important. Even if you won't be paying rent for your condo, you must provide documentation that establishes your long-term stay at that address. Acceptable documents typically include a lease agreement or a legal certification confirming your relationship with the owner. It's crucial to verify with your local immigration office regarding acceptable proof of residence.

It doesn't matter whether you are paying rent or not. But in general, you need to provide documents to prove you are staying at that address legally long-term (not just like staying in a hotel for a few weeks). Usually, it's a lease agreement or legal certification of a relationship with the owner.

You need to check what documents are acceptable at your local immigration office.
