Evening all.

Hopefully flying out to bkk in a couple of weeks time. Failed in November due to getting covid so second attempt.

Not sure if much has changed regarding rules, doesn’t seem to different from November.

Am I missing anything, got my.....

thai pass.

accommodation ALQ booked for 10 days.

Visa.

Insurance.

T8 form.

Pcr booked. I think this is still 72 hours prior to flight. Will it make any difference if I’ve got a 2 hour lay over in Doha ? I’ve seen 48 hours mentioned for Doha...I’m guessing that’s people stopping in Doha ??

Anything else I’ve missed, feel free to let me know.

Thanks in advance for any advice 🙏🏼 Much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The traveler is preparing for a trip to Bangkok after a previous cancellation due to COVID-19. They have conducted thorough research, booking accommodation and flights, but seek confirmation on travel requirements including PCR testing timelines, layover considerations in Doha, and insurance coverage. Comments from the community suggest needing insurance that covers COVID-19 testing without symptoms, and they mention the possibility of spending less time in quarantine if vaccinated. Others share personal experiences regarding testing nuances on arrival.

WOW...good luck passing the RT-PCR COVID test before your flight and again on arrival.

Be sure you have insurance which will pay for testing COVID positive without symptoms.

As the Thai laboratories are sensitive to picking up COVID particles...therein a positive test.

So long as the insurance you bought covers COVID WITHOUT symptoms. Therein lies the problem. Many foreign insurers will not pay unless symptoms.

Thats why I always recommend buying from a Thai based agent and from insurers ACS, AXA Sawadee Thailand, LUMA Tune Thailand and the new Cigna Thailand policy. They will pay.

has those policies...do yourself a favor and at least buy one month of those policies I listed...as precaution just in case...

Well, if they can prove that person isn’t contagious, no reason to keep him. I should imagine there’s a few who have had the virus and still test positive a couple of months later.

Arrived hotel, did his test, positive. Took a blood sample next day and deemed him not contagious so left after 2 days in that hotel.

I’ve got insurance from a thai based company, one you listed above. As for passing RT PCR’s, my brother got covid same time as me, a few weeks later got a negative test. Arrived thailand and had a positive result. They took a blood sample and deemed him non contagious, so he was good to go. These tests are know to give false positives. Thanks anyway.

@Gary ********
how long was your brother detained when he tested positive on arrival?

@James *******
symptoms are "relative". If you're positive develop a headache... I'm sure the virus and requirement to quarantine will cause headache... then you're covered..😳

Once your tested prior to departure you have 72 hours to get into Thailand

If you are vaccinated you only need to spend 1 night in hotel waiting for pcr results. Test & Go.

l was told once you book in at airport don't matter how long you take to get there but check it any way
