Is it correct that from next month on (October) all Thai consulates in the near countries change to evisa? I'm talking especially about Taiwan and Vietnam. I am planning to fly in October to one of them to apply for the DTV visa.
Question, if it's all online, I still need to be in the country I apply for at
- the time I apply online?
- the time I receive the visa?
I only got one week time, so if my DTV isn't ready by then, i will be out of the country already (not in Thailand though), I will be in Malaysia after which seems the worst place to get the DTV hence the plan to stop before in either Taiwan or Vietnam.
Anyone knows more on that?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the potential transition of Thai consulates in Taiwan and Vietnam to an eVisa system starting in October, specifically relating to applying for a DTV visa while traveling. Comments indicate that Taiwan has not announced an eVisa system yet and currently offers same-day visa services. To apply for an eVisa, the applicant must be in the country of the consulate at the time of application, although they do not need to be present for the receipt of the visa. There is some uncertainty surrounding the actual implementation of changes to visa regulations.
