My wife and I are currently holding non-O retirement visas. In the past year we have been spending a considerable amount of time outside of Thailand - over eight months, I'd say.
This may be a strange question, but is our absence from Thailand likely to affect the renewals of our visas? Just a vague misgiving, but I thought I'd check with you folks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Concerns about the impact of spending more than eight months outside Thailand on the renewal of NON-O retirement visas were addressed by community members, who confirmed that as long as the visa holders return to Thailand within the extension period to apply for their renewal, their absence should not affect the renewal process. The key factor remains fulfilling the financial requirements upon returning.
