Will spending extended time outside Thailand affect the renewal of my NON-O retirement visa?

My wife and I are currently holding non-O retirement visas. In the past year we have been spending a considerable amount of time outside of Thailand - over eight months, I'd say.

This may be a strange question, but is our absence from Thailand likely to affect the renewals of our visas? Just a vague misgiving, but I thought I'd check with you folks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Concerns about the impact of spending more than eight months outside Thailand on the renewal of NON-O retirement visas were addressed by community members, who confirmed that as long as the visa holders return to Thailand within the extension period to apply for their renewal, their absence should not affect the renewal process. The key factor remains fulfilling the financial requirements upon returning.

Absolutely not. But please stay longer and contribute to the local economy if possible.

No, no problem.

You get your extension for stay 12 months; you could also stay only 1 day, but need back to do the next extension (need to fulfill financial requirements).

No problem at all.

As long as you are back within your extension with enough time to apply for a new yearly extension, you can stay out of Thailand as you wish.
