ORIGINAL POSTER
H all, I have a retirement visa for Thailand that ends on 7november, (my 3rd annual visa) I have been out of country since Jan 6 when I came to Macau and haven’t been back since for obvious reasons, if travel to Khon Khan is not permitted before November can anyone advise how I renew without having to start all over again as we all know what a pain that would be. My partner cannot come here so basically we’re stuck in two countries!!🙏🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing difficulties in renewing their retirement visa for Thailand while being stuck outside the country due to travel restrictions. The current visa expires on November 7, and since they haven't returned to Thailand since January, they seek options to avoid starting the visa process over. Community responses suggest that if the visa expires, they will need to obtain a new visa after returning to Thailand, which might not be easy due to current restrictions on visas being issued from Thai consulates abroad.

David Broadfoot that was After her initial response ... and No you can’t ... you will need to send your passport etc to an agent In Thailand to do it ? .. I don’t think so . !
Martin *********
David Broadfoot neither did I .. I said quote “ from outside Thailand ‘ ... and you can’t ! ...

from outside Thailand ?

I don't think that would be possible but maybe worth asking about the process. I'd have thought your best bet is to get back Thailand and try to renew in country, either via an agent or by yourself.

@Jane **********
not me , I live in Thailand .. YOU suggested (the person who posted who is not in Thailand ) went to see an agent .. I asked “ from outside Thailand ? “ which I don’t think is possible .... I don’t have an issue I live here .

. You're correct. Agents can only bribe the immigration officers they have access to who of course are in country. Outside the country people apply through the embassy which is totally separate ministry to immigration.

You cannot "renew" any visa. You can get in-country "extensions" but once your visa is expired, you start again.

@Nic ******
same as me, I've been told from the embassy that I can do the Non O Visa in Italy and when I go back to thailand do the rest of the documents...

It's a shame that we can't renew the retirement Visa in our own country

Sorry but if you can’t get back in by 7th November it’s back to square one. You’ll need a new visa from a Thai consulate (which they’re not issuing at the moment) and then extend in country, meeting the financial requirements.

I believe you need to start over

But again I can be wrong mine runs out January 20 of 21
