Hello, just so happy I got my non OA based on retirement.... One quick question though, when does start my one year period?

When I enter Thailand (in September) or when the visa was issued (1st of July)?

Second quick question... When should I renew? 1 month before the end of one year stay or less?

Thank you so much for the always great information...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The one-year validity of a NON-O retirement visa starts from the date it is issued, but your one-year stay in Thailand begins upon entry into the country. It’s important to ensure that the Immigration Officer stamps your passport correctly upon entry for one year from that date. For renewal, it is advised to initiate the process at least one month prior to the end of your one-year stay.

Make sure you write the visa number on the the TM6 arrival card. And point it out to the IO.

When you enter thailand and stamp in make SURE they stamped you in for a year from the date you enter. Many times people get stamped in wrong..

The 1 year validity of the visa starts the day it was issued, your 1 year stay in Thailand starts the day you enter the country

Which Embassy or Consulate did you receive your visa from ?

Depending on where you stay you have to report yourself within 24 hours if you stay at a private address. If you stay longer than 90 days inside the country, counted as day of arrival as day 1, you need to report yourself at Immigration Office.

The validity of the visa started when they put it in your passport. When you enter Thailand you will get 1 year Admitted to Stay stamped in your passport, please check if this is correct, sometimes Immigration Officers do make mistakes and direct change is easy. You can leave and come back when ever your want till 1 July 2019, on each entry 1 year Admitted to Stay. If you enter Thailand just before or on 1 July 2019 you have nearly 2 years of stay out of this visa. Be aware that after 1 July 2019 you need a Re-Entry Permit to leave and come back.
