Morning.. :) I suppose to go this week to MTT to extend my 45 day visa exemption with 30 days, however my landlord supposedly still have not got back the TM30 confirmation.

Do I need that? Is that going to be an issue? I have a years rental contract. Any advice would be appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity of the TM30 confirmation for extending a 45-day visa exemption in Thailand can vary. While some sources indicate that it may not be required for a 30-day extension based on tourism, others suggest that having it is crucial. It is advisable to carry a copy of the lease and possibly self-file the TM30 if needed, especially since experiences differ based on who processes your application at the immigration office.

By the way when you get there with an online appointment you have to go to information first or straight to counter K?

IF you have all the copies, forms, etc correctly filled out GO to the people in that area who will check your paperwork, and then let you in to the area Counter K is in

Thanks for the comments. Supposedly the landlord filed, but there was some issue with the system, online didnt work..They promised it should be ready this week. Shall see. I will take a copy of the lease with me just in case :)

That's all you can do.

Usually BKK doesn't ask you TM30 receipt for 30days extension based on tourism. Bring your lease in case.

I didn't need my tm30 for my 30 day or 60 day extension. I was seen by the same man both times at mtt. But a friend of mine was seen by a lady and was asked for his. So basically it seems its luck of the draw

I got my 30-day extension without the TM30, but the 60-day covid extension required the TM.30.

To my knowledge, you need the TM30 to submit a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism. You can self-file the TM30.

REPOST: Self File TM-30 BANGKOK ONLY.

This is the way you need to fill out the TM30 form if you are filing with NO documentation from your land lord

Your name goes at the top of the form, your address goes under it, then your address AGAIN as the address where the foreigner lives.

In the blank area at the bottom left hand side of the piece that they will tear off and give back to you write your address again.

On the second page (the table) put all your information.

You sign BOTH forms on the signature lines. Print the forms correctly. the first page is portrait orientation and second page is landscape orientation :O

Make copies of;

-lease

-data page of your passport

-visa (if you have one)

-extension (if you have one)

-entry stamp

-TM6 departure card

sign the copies of your passport stuff.

This is a way to file a TM30 in BANGKOK without any information from your land lord at all. <- (meaning you don't need their i/d, their house book listing, a power of attorney form with the 10 baht in tax stamps).

AFAIK: this ONLY works in Bangkok but I can say with 100% accuracy that it does work (y)
