If an Australian booked an upcoming stay for 50 days 2wks ago, will this be honoured without having to apply for a tourist visa?
Thank youq
Answer summary
An Australian who booked a stay in Thailand for 50 days should check the arrival date relative to potential visa rule changes. If arriving before the new regulations take effect, they should receive the full 60-day stamp upon entry. However, if the arrival occurs after the changes, a 30-day stamp might be issued, potentially requiring either a visa extension in Thailand or an application for a tourist visa before travel for guaranteed longer stay.

Immigration doesn't care in the least when a trip was booked. Only the arrival date matters. When is that? If it's after the (not yet announced) date of the change, they get 30 days and can get a 30 day extension.
