Does anyone know whether Jomtiem immigration will accept a hotel receipt as proof of address when applying for a retirement visa..?

Or, what do they require as proof of address? Residents letter from immigration?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question seeks clarity on whether Jomtien immigration accepts a hotel receipt as proof of address for a retirement visa. One commenter shares that many expats have successfully used hotel addresses, provided the hotel has filed the TM.30 form and a receipt is available.

I know 15 or 20 people that LIVE at hotels and use the address and room number as their "official address" when getting yearly extensions of stays (although these guys are in Bangkok).

As long as the hotel you're staying has has filed the TM.30 form (alien in residence) and you have a receipt that you're staying there you should be able to use their address as the address you "live" at when applying for a yearly extension of stay

@Pa**
it's only been in the last 6 to 8 months that they they started enforcing the TM.30 forms and only at some immigration offices (Jomtien being one).

Good Luck (y)

Legally it is the responsibility of the Landlord to register his Tennants within 24 hours of their arrival. But if the Tennant is the one applying for an extension then you could always go in person to lodge the TM30 and pay the 1600 fine and arrange to get it back from the Landlord later. (or not get it back if he didn't know of the requirement and you didn't tell him when you arrived).

Thanks Tod.. I guess that applies to a landlord too then.. the TM.30 form. Notifying immigration before I try for the visa.
