Will immigration officers in Thailand ask for an updated letter regarding my Muay Thai training upon re-entry with a DTV?

DTV Soft Power Question:

If I get my DTV approved to attend Muay Thai training, and I enter Thailand and begin the training, and then I leave Thailand before the 180-day mark, and then re-enter Thailand, will the immigration officer at the airport in Bangkok know that I obtained the DTV to take Muay Thai classes and ask for an updated letter showing that I will continue my training? Or will the immigration officer only see that I have a DTV in my passport and not know the reason I was given the visa, and let me enter without checking anything?

Will the immigration officers at the airports/land crossings be able to tell who got the DTV for remote work and who go it for soft power reasons?

No opinions please, just facts. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is inquiring whether immigration officials in Thailand will require them to provide additional documentation regarding their Muay Thai training when re-entering the country after leaving before the 180-day limit on their DTV visa. The discussion reveals mixed opinions: some believe that immigration officials may not check the specifics of the visa type upon re-entry, while others assert that officials have access to comprehensive records and could inquire about the reason for the visa, particularly when it concerns activities like training or remote work. It's highlighted that definitive answers are difficult to obtain due to the recent introduction of the DTV visa.

you will have to fight the officer to prove you are training for the visa

You will have to show the visa which if e-visa is a pdf, and wont be any type of stamp in your passport. (Only your previous entry and exit stamps). It is highly unlikely any other documentation is required at that point, unless they specifically target soft option as the other options havent got simple suporting paperwork that can be shown at passport control.

I’m surprised immigration said yes to this visa in the first place. There is not even a criminal record check for a visa that is 5 years long multiple entry. How do they even know if WANTED people (in their country) are coming in ? didnt know that they are this DESPERATE...

The DTV is issued by MFA, not by immigration. MFA seem to be more interested in bringing people into the country in large numbers, and it seems it's working. There's not many visas required a criminal check so that's nothing new

Yeh but most other visas are one year period. So this is not normal. You can do a lot of “bad” things in a 5 year period and make a lot of money lol

You want facts? The only fact is, that nobody here on FB can answer your questions. But many people want to know the same things... time will tell...

According to two interviews that Naruchai Ninnad from the Dept. of Consular affairs gave, the only time that you have to show documentation about the purpose of your stay after the successful DTV application again is, when you want to extend a 180 day period at an immigration office inside Thailand.

Fact: immigration officers at the airport have everything related to your visa and all your stays in Thailand on the screen of their computer. They know the reason why, how, when and where you got your visa. Same applies for other visa like ED (education) etc …

on the DTV pdf.-document, the reason does not get mentioned. So an Immigration officer would never know what "reason" your DTV had been based upon, unless the reason is especially mentioned in the central computer system, which I highly doubt it is. . . here's a sample DTV document on the DTV pdf.-document, the reason does not get mentioned. What you are showing is just the document you carry with you : equivalent of a sticker affixed in your passport. It shows just minimal information. I know for a fact that there is much more in the Immigration computer system : not long ago I had an ED visa (education) , I was taking thaï language classes, the sticker in my passport didn’t mention I was taking Thai classes with this ED visa, nonetheless at the airport an IO tested my Thai language skills asking me questions in thai . Immigration belongs to Royal Thai Police . They know much more about you than just the basic info in your passport. And they love to know about you: thus the mandatory 90 days report … just an example …

you are WRONG. The DTV is issued as a .pdf. It will be sent to your Email adress. The DTV is no sticker, unless you have obtained it inside a country that is not connected to the online E-visa system.

Fact: The visa for what ever reason it was issued is valid for 5 years.

Opinion: The immigration officer probably wouldn’t give a monkeys about why it was issued, just that you have it. You’ll have to wait and see if this opinion is valid or not.

Same thing with cooking classes. They haven’t specified that. Whether the course needs to match your stay period. Someone has said the dtv stamp is a generic one.
Neil ******
@Alexander ***
What is a "generic" stamp? All the stamps have different specific graphics/text.
Alexander ****
it’s the same stamp whether it’s remote worker or soft power
Nongnuch ********
@Alexander ***
the DTV it's not a stamp at all. It is a pdf. document which you will need to print out and show to the Immigration officer upon entry. You will only receive the same "admitted until" stamp as EVERYONE else, with the remark in the upper right corner under "visaclass" = DTV. The DTV document doesn't mention anything about what you got it for. Here is a sample:

You are asking for facts from a visa type that is 3 weeks old. When it’s a hundred and eighty days old people might have some hard facts rather than opinions.
