TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around how to obtain a DTV visa in Thailand through Muay Thai training as part of the soft power route. Community members seek details on required training frequency, duration of courses, specific gym recommendations, and financial documentation needed for the application. There are clarifications on the possibility of multiple 180-day stays, visa extension costs, and whether a border run can reset the visa duration. Recurrent questions emphasize the financial commitment, including costs of training and bank statements required to meet visa criteria.
Dies it say anything about how often or for how long you have to attend the course? What happens at extension time. I would leave the country if I were you.

Core combat Chang Mai do a 6 month package and supply all necessary paperwork.

Watch āRetired Working For Youā on YouTube. He interviewed the official that implemented this. It has all your answers.
watched that too but Little clarification on the soft power application route . No mention of how many months minimum of a particular course , be it Muay Thai,or cooking , or music events, to be eligible for the DTV
For me I would be nervous applying under the soft. Yes, poster booked one year. But would they say yes to one month. Seems they should have been clear with the soft. Type of classes, how many hours per week, and how long. Itās non refundable. But I wonder if you apply and have 2 weeks cooking school they send message giving you a chance to increase the classes you booked or straight denial. Because like I said.
What if I did 3 month language
3 months cooking (which might be too much) and then 6 months Muay Thai.
I assume any classes will require a minimum amount of classes and payment in order to provide letter. Nobody wants to create or response to 10,000 one day cooking class visa letter. Even thought itās cut and paste letter
I understand all those questions because I have them all too. I canāt find info on them yet.

Ok I just looked again. The price I saw for 3 places ranged from 8000 baht per month to

0 for Muay Thai per year. Interested to see what he paid and if there is cheaper. It says classes are two hours. I assume M-F. One promoted a certificate and graduation so I assume you must go to get this class certificate. Unsure what will immigration do if you pay for class and never go. The Muay Thai donāt care they got 60%. This will be a great business for them. It me seems border bounces are cheaper. But not guaranteed, maybe if you use a service for bounce. But I think if you need one year of proof of class not two weeks then it will be an expensive DTV.
yes I saw a Thai cooking school for 4 hours and 1200 baht. The question is what will be accepted. Accepting one year Muay Thai is different that a cooking class. So, has anyone been denied the visa? I read a lot of approvals. A denial with reason would be interesting. Do you risk

baht to apply with a 1 day or two week cooking class. The government donāt care because they keep the money. Surprised not some basic guidelines of what acceptable fir classes. As of right now we know a 1 year class accepted. But I could take three vacations to other parts of SEA for cost of Muay Thai. I am still surprised itās 5 years and not 1 with extension option. I assume changes might happen and the 5 years could be the first thing discussed. Make it like retirement where you have to do an extension with proof again. But for digital nomads it is great. Why they add soft to it instead of changing education visa seems odd. It only been about a month. How things look next year will be interesting.

William Boyc I had similar questions which you posted, costs of a one year Muay Thai vs the border bounce, or a vacation to other SEA cities, and what will be acceptable for the cooking classes, as I would not want to risk my

baht application fee . Yes , if someone could show denials of the DTV , it would be helpful
well letās hope not many denials. But the earlier you apply probably higher success rate. Now since new most approved. After 6 months they might be picky. I just hope it doesnāt push rent high or food.
just doing this for my son and we was told ideally 6 months but can do 3,4 at a push, just was proof you have enough funds to live, not allowed to work for any Thai peopleš

Ah I notice your from
UK.. different rules for different embassies, I believe
I wonder if you completed your 360 days in Thailand (if you did extension in Thailand), you need to leave and re-enter. So when you re-enter Thailand again, do you need proof of Muay Thai training for the next 6 months again? Thank you in advance.
random question, where is your background pic taken, looks stunning?

Which gym and what did you ask for at he gym? Looking for a gym in Pattaya or Koh Chang to get a letter then come back in a few months. Thanks for any info.š
the MFA doesn't have anything to do with immigration. Immigration handles extensions. The Phuket immigration volunteers that work at immigration have been told that extensions will be 10,000 baht directly from the immigration leaders.
