Hi everyone! Hoping someone can help with an odd question, I’ve tried Googling the answer but it doesn’t seem too straight forward. 

AU citizen flying into Bangkok as it is the cheapest port of arrival into South East Asia on my chosen date (Oct). I’d like to spend a few days in Bangkok before heading straight over to Cambodia.

I’d then like to return to Thailand via the north of Laos later in November.

Will I need to apply for a specific visa for this, or will I be able to continue on with the original 30 days tourist via granted on entry? If I do need a different visa, is there an ideal way to apply for it?

You’ll need a visa to enter Cambodia and Laos when you return you’ll be stamped in for 30 days unless you choose to apply for a tourist visa in Laos or Cambodia

If you have an Australian passport then you qualify for visa exempt. That means you'll receive 30 days every time you enter Thailand.

The only thing to be aware of is that you can only enter at a land border without a visa 2 times per calendar year. But if this is your first time in Thailand in 2023 then it won't affect your plans.

you don't need a visa to do what you have said and when you come back into Thailand and get the 30 days exempt you can extend that for another 30 days if you want at the immigration office
