Is the Thai visa exemption single entry and can I get a new exemption upon re-entry?

Hi all. I have a question regarding the Thai visa exemption. Is it single entry? Specifically, I entered Thailand on 1st April and was granted the 30 day visa exemption. Now I am in Laos for two weeks and would like to re-enter Thailand before the visa exemption expires. Would I be issued with a new visa exemption for 30 days (this is what I would prefer) or would I have to re-enter on the previous one which will have just one week left?

Thanks ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai visa exemption is indeed single entry. Once you exit Thailand, your initial 30-day exemption stamp becomes invalid. Upon re-entering Thailand after leaving (in this case from Laos), you will receive a new 30-day visa exemption stamp, provided you have not exceeded the limit of entering Thailand without a visa more than two times in one calendar year.

It's single entry. Your exemption expired as soon as you crossed the border.

Your previous stamp was invalid the moment you stamped out of Thailand. You couldn't re-enter Thailand with it even if you wanted to. Each time you enter without a visa you'll be stamped in with a new visa exempt stamp for 30 days.

Note that you can only enter Thailand this way at a land border 2 times per calendar year.
