Will I get another 60-day stamp if I leave Thailand on a 60-day exempt tourist stamp and return the same day?
If you on a 60 day exempt tourist stamp, and you leave Thailand in the morning and return same day via international airport. Will you get another 60 day stamp?

When the revised visa free 30 days law is gazetted, there’s likely to be a bunch of people doing border runs during the subsequent grace period. And it’s very likely that the Immigration/border authorities will apply extra scrutiny on people apparently doing so. If you decide to roll that dice, please let us know how it works out for you.

It’s a risk of them taking you to the little room in the back and treating you like an international drug lord, they really don’t like same day. I speak from experience but I had other factors involved but when you do same day they get very interested in all factors. I had to literally beg to be allowed in and sign a paper explaining I was a bad boy lol.

Echoing what others said but yes, you get a reset.. However they scrutinize this behaviour heavily now so don’t hold your breath.

yes but it's still best to spend at least a couple days out before reentering. Same-day border runs are kinda frowned upon now.

When I lived in sumatra amd did so e one day jumps over to Malaysia, the Malaysian immigration would give me a grilling for using their country as a visa bounce...so its not just getting back in, for me at least it was getting accepted into the other country.

Maybe. It's likely the announcement of visa exempt entries dropping to 30 days will be made today, so the 60 days will change to 30 in 15 days. The rest will depend on your history in Thailand, if this is your first time in Thailand in the last 12 to 18 months then you will likely get another visa exempt entry. It will be entirely at the discretion of the immigration officer you will stand in front of though

so you can either come in visa exempt and get a 30 day extension at an immigration office inside Thailand or apply for a 60 day tourist visa before you travel.

whether or not you will need a flight out of Thailand within the 30 days will depend more on your airline than Thai immigration so ask them. But note it doesn't have to be a return flight, just a ticket out of Thailand is generally sufficient so you could get a cheap ticket to a nearby country if it's an issue and just not use itMatt ********

yeah don't I need a return flight in the 30 days though for them to let me in ? I can't just say I'm extending. Also in the UK Visas are supposedly taking up to 6 weeks so that's not an option.

If the 30 is published today, it would start on the 16th, correct. My understanding is it’s the day after 15, not counting day of publishing.John **********
