Anyone been denied re-entry after staying 60 days + 30-day extension, then doing a 1-week trip in another country and re-entering on the 30-day visa exemption?
Answer summary
Many expats shared experiences regarding re-entry to Thailand after utilizing the 30-day visa exemption following a stay that included a 60-day tourist visa and a 30-day extension. The consensus is that re-entry can be denied based on immigration officers' discretion, the individual's visa history, and whether they can demonstrate adequate travel proof, such as hotel bookings and sufficient finances. Various users recounted instances of being grilled by immigration upon returning from brief trips abroad, with some being allowed back in under strict conditions requiring a change to a long-term visa. Experiences suggest that it is common to face scrutiny during re-entry after extended stays in Thailand.

Yes? Bangkok Immigration confirmed with me I could do a border run to Cambodia. When I got there Thai immigration told me if I crossed they would not let me back in. Told me to go fly out of Bangkok. So I did and have not been back since. (2 years now)
They said if I wanted to come back had to be with a retirement or marriage visa, or they will not let me back in.
I do have a very long visa history there. So even if I want to stay for a week I need a retirement visa.
Currently enjoying other countries where immigration is way easier.
If I personally thought there was the slightest possibility of a rejection I'd ensure I was smartly dressed had tickets printed off, Hotels printed off etc etc etc and hand the lot over with the passport......clearly not foolproof but better than turning up unshaven in T Shirt shorts and crocs and absolutely no paperwork ready let alone 20,000 Baht in cash...only my opinion I acknowledge
No one can answer your specific question as the 30 day visa exempt entry hasn't gone into effect yet. I think you are referring to the two visa exempt entries by land border crossings you will get, and if that count starts brand new after everything goes into effect. No one knows, and everyone is simply reciting experiences before today, which are very real.

Really depends on the immigration officer's discretion.
I have found if I stay out 90+ days and then re-enter, hasn't been an issue. However, again it depends on the person checking you into the country 🤷♂️
ConfidentReindeer9537 yes never fall on the wrong side of Immigration, dont use western logic. They can't easily refuse you entry, try for a proper online visa at least if approved you are likely to get in, but no one on here can guarantee that.
I was in Thailnd almost 3 month with 2 month free visa and 1 month extension. Then travelled to Malaysia for 10 days, when I returned to Thailand, they asked the purpose, checked return ticket and place of stay. Finally they told me, "we'll let you enter this time, but you have to switched to a different long term visa option".
Yes, but mostly in cases where they had already spent significant time living in Thailand in previous years, or could not show basic proof of tourism such as sufficient cash, a hotel booking, or a return/onward flight.
(assuming you are talking about the first follow up entry in the calendar year)
Thai embassy in London is asking me for 3 months bank statement which I got and with over £700 but the what a official stamp from the bank but I been into my NatWest bank and they say they no longer do this what can I do to get my tourist E visa
That's really going to depend on your history of spending time in Thailand over the last 12 to 18 months and what the immigration officer you will stand in front of thinks of that
