TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to return to Australia permanently but intends to visit Laos and re-enter Thailand through Nong Khai for a 60-day visa exemption. A comment suggests that they are unlikely to face issues if they have proof of onward travel back to Australia.

unlikely you'll have an issue comin' in on the 26th from the Nong Khai land border. You said you'll return to Oz when you do, so you'll have proof of onward travel even if they question you.
I'd wager you'll be fine, just have proof that you're going back to Australia within the 60 days you'll get stamped in for when you cross, if they're going to ask for anything it'll be that.
