some news today mention that the thai malay border will open soon , does that , does that mean all the multiple non-b visarunners have to do that trip as soon borders open , as most of us now on a covid 19 extension , with the requirement to visa run within 7 days as of lifting the travel ban / aka border closure

TLDR : Answer Summary
The recent news about the reopening of the Thai-Malay border raises questions for expats currently on COVID-19 extensions. However, comments suggest that the border reopening will primarily benefit Thai nationals and Malaysians, and there is no confirmation that visa runners will be required to leave the country immediately. Additionally, there is no written provision indicating that those on COVID-19 extensions will have a 7-day period to leave once the borders are open. Most expats may need to wait for official announcements regarding visa procedures after the border reopening.

I see no value in keeping this thread open. The Malaysia border is only reopening for Thais to return, and not as a border bounce

I'd say you, like everyone else who is "stuck" <- as in chose to stay here rather than go back to your own country and who is on either a covid-19 extension OR the free amnesty until the 30th is gonna hafta wait it out and see what they government does on the 30th IF they can't get the borders opened back up.

I will wager that as soon as the government can get the borders opened up they'll start pushing people on those stamps out of the country as fast as they can :P

Also keep in mind there is NOTHING written that says once the borders re-open that people who took the blanket amnesty stamp OR are on the covid-19 extension stamps get 7 days to get out of the country.

That provision was written for the day pass holders who are trapped in thailand and those are THREE nationalities (Cambodianz, Burmese, and Laotianz) <- THOSE day pass holders will not be charged for overstay IF they go back to their country within 7 days of the borders opening back up

There is NO sign that the borders will re-open for "visa runners' AT ALL, they re allowing the Malays stuck here and the Thaiz stuck in Malaysia to swap out
