So, I was supposed to fly in and out of KL from Phuket for my 90 day visa run - I need to leave and reenter every 90 days. I hear that Malaysia has now closed its borders so any ideas on what I should do? What happens if I cannot go?! Help...

TLDR : Answer Summary
With Malaysia closing its borders, consider alternative options for your 90-day visa run from Thailand. You might explore border hopping to Myanmar, which can be done by boat, or check visa policies for flying in and out of Myanmar. If traveling isn't feasible, you could also consider applying for an Extension of Stay at your local Immigration Office. Keep updated on travel regulations and options by consulting official travel information sites.

Get the Extension of Stay based on working at your local Immigration Office or if your company can not meet the requirements, you have to leave every 90 days. Not a headache, is is a choice you made.

Check on this page which country is available and check with the airline company if you book a flight, good luck

Check about Myanmar visa policy; I believe you may need an eVisa before you can enter via air.

I am from Portugal. Does it make a difference?
Benjamin ******
Yes it does. As someone with a Portugal passport, you can bounce out at all Myanmar borders. You can border hop by boat to Ranong, I believe it's called the Andaman Club visa run. There's lots of information on the group.

I understand you'll buy a day pass to enter Myanmar, and then you'll leave and return the same day.

I think only Malaysia and Vietnam out so far

If u want to be really cautious you could get a doctors cert in Thailand saying your covid free b4 u leave and show on run if necessary or rules get stricter
Benjamin ******
Go and bounce at another border. You can still bounce out at Myanmar, which shouldn't be too far away from where you are (I think)

I have heard that you cannot do this at all borders, is this true?
Robert *******
You can leave Thailand and come back, there are so many other countries and options.

Is it possible to bounce back from any country? I thought this was only possible on certain countries/borders.
