Hi. Cant find info on this, I looked through recent posts and did not find this question. LIVING IN PHUKET. For Multi-Entry-Non-Immigrant-B Visa. Does anyone have information on having to leave the country and re-enter to keep a Multi_Entry-Non-Immigrant-B Visa Valid while borders are closed? She has to leave before June 6th. Any thoughts on what the protocol will be if international travel is not opened by then? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, this group is literally a life saver!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is inquiring about the necessity of leaving Thailand and re-entering to maintain the validity of a Multi-Entry Non-Immigrant B Visa amidst ongoing border closures. Several responses suggest that while the visa itself remains valid until the 'Valid Until' date, the associated 90-day stay permit may expire if not addressed before the deadline. It is noted that until borders reopen, the individual may enter an amnesty period, which allows staying until July 31. After this date, whether the visa can still be utilized depends on the reopening of borders.

Since this post is getting hijacked, I'm closing comments. Good luck.

Adam is this for you or a friend?

Where was the one year NonB multientry visa issued?

Is it for teaching, business or as a volunteer?

Here's my opinion:

1. As Robert and James said, on every entry, a 90 day stamp is given. In this situation, this stamp expires on June 6.

2. On June 7, your friend will enter amnesty (assuming the borders did not re-open). On amnesty, your friend can stay up to July 31.

3. Your friend has a multiple entry Non-B visa, and I will assume the validity of the visa is good past July 31. When the borders re-open, bounce out and return for another 90 day stamp. It is unknown what would happen after July 31.

I recommend your friend get a one year extension of stay based on employment, IF POSSIBLE, and avoid the amnesty. If that's not possible, watch this group, and trusted news sites for up-to-date information about borders and other related visa laws.

Good luck!

I wish we could toss a life raft to your friend.

But as all borders are closed and no foreigner can enter by sea, air or land thru May 31...not possible to do a border run.

Hopefully an opening in June? Doubtful...but watch for news.

Until July 31 your friend will be under amnesty extension. If no border opens by that time...

Watch news from Thai Immigration what to do or when / if you must leave.

The visa is valid until the date mentioned on the visa under the text Valid Until.

On an entry people do get 90 days of stay and have to leave Thailand before this 90 day period ends or apply for a 1 year Extension of Stay based on employment.
