Will Thailand open its borders for visa runs before my ED visa expires on May 1st?
Ed visa expires May 1st. In chiang mai.. will they open borders by then so I can get a tourist visa border run or be closed? There isnt much information and with flights to bangkok and buses cancelled travel plans are impossible and I have no plans to return to US or even boarding public transportation during this pandemic. Does anyone have any news on if there will open the borders by then or extend the extensions through till june. The information is sparse and I know alot of people are stressed for information as I am. Would like to know I can rest assured I wont have to scramble may 1st and find an option that in less that 3 weeks away could be announced to ease the troubled minds of so many travelers and migrant workers alike.
Summary so far
The user is inquiring about the possibility of Thailand reopening its borders for a tourist visa border run before their education visa (ED visa) expires on May 1st. They express concerns due to limited flight and transport options during the pandemic and hope for an announcement to ease their anxiety about finding a solution before the expiration date.

And you can't get paperwork from your school to extend the ed visa at the immigration office why exactly? :O
Most real schools I know went to online teaching and are getting paperwork from the MOE so their students can go get extensions like normal. :)

Extend your current ED visa.
I just did mine. The school said , the MOE is working pretty fast, so you may still be okay.
Good luck.

Pointless questions to ask here, it's a pandemic, things change daily, sometimes more often, no one knows.. sit tight and wait with the rest of us..
