Will entering Thailand on visa exemption affect my chances of applying for a DTV in another country if my current application is pending?

My DTV has been pending approval for over 4 weeks. My flight is very soon. But it says on my embassy website that they wonโ€™t deliver the visa if you already left the country and entered on visa exemption. If I do enter still, will it hinder my chances of applying to another DTV in a neighbouring country ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has a pending DTV visa application that has not been approved for over four weeks and is concerned about their upcoming flight to Thailand. They want to know if entering Thailand on a visa exemption would hinder their chances of applying for another DTV visa in a neighboring country. While many community members suggest delaying the flight or continuing to wait for the visa approval, they agree that a rejection from one embassy should not affect the application at another, especially in Southeast Asia where many consulates allow for walk-in applications.

Anonieme deelnemer congratulations , no more worry for 5 years , so do all DTV owners hope anyway.

Suggest you delay your flight โœˆ๏ธ to Thailand until you get the New DTV Visa approved. Avoid the hassle of trying to get it elsewhere.
Filip *******
And in my opinion , donโ€™t cancel your application . You lose your payed fee and you are traveling about 15 hours. The embassy info gives

weeks to issue the visa.

Brussels Embassy, Belgium via E-Visa

If you get rejected it will not affect you applying for a DTV at another consulate, especially after you're already in thailand and go to a nearby thai consulate in S/E Asia because they're all walk in apply in person consulates

For now, but not for much longer. E-visa system coming soon.

@Paul ******
still a rejection on one visa application shouldn't affect another application if you meet the requirements even if both consulates are eVisa

If only you'd give info about which embassy etc etc.

There was a post about a guy leaving home country before DTV approval and entering on Visa Exempt. He then got the DTV so flew out of Thailand and back in to activate the DTV. This situation is different to yours. Question is are the systems for DTV applications linked ie could the neighbouring country see you have an application pending elsewhere? Why not cancel current application at home and re-apply in the region?

Thanks. I donโ€™t see a button to cancel my application on the website though.

Anonymous participant You would probably have to call the embassy but it is often difficult to get answers. Good luck and hope it all works out for you.

Send them an email or call, ask them if they need additional information and remind them that your flight is set to depart on whatever day. Ask them if they think you will have it in time. Up to you if you change pay to change your flight or lose the money and pay again at a nearby embassy.

I have done all that they donโ€™t take calls or emails regarding visa and redirect you to the e-visa system.

But do you think having a denied application will interfere with my next application ?

Anonymous participant wanna say WHAT embassy you actually applied thru?

so I had no idea that it was 6 weeks ago that you applied ๐Ÿ˜•

Anonymous participant when was the request for additional documents?

At MOST eVisa consulates that resets the processing time back to zero and it's how ever long they state once they receive the requested additional documents

Request for additional documents was 5 weeks ago and it has been in pending approval for 4 weeks. Took them 6 days from pending documents check to pending approval

Anonymous participant well not much you can really do, wait it out, if you don't get it before your flight come here free stamp. There is no way you can cancel it on your side once you pay and it's processing, it's the embassy that has to do that..

it says they take AT LEAST 4 weeks ๐Ÿ˜•
