Can I obtain a DTV for my children without their father's notarised consent if I have a UK Family Court order?
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone has experience with this.
I’m planning to apply for a DTV for myself and my children. My two older children have their father named on their birth certificates, but he has been completely absent and effectively uncontactable for many years, so obtaining a notarised consent letter isn’t realistically possible.
I do, however, have a relatively recent UK Family Court order confirming that the children live with me and granting permission for us to relocate and reside permanently in another country. The court considered the father’s position during those proceedings, and permission was granted.
Has anyone successfully obtained DTVs for their children in similar circumstances without the other parent’s notarised consent? If so, what documents did you provide, and how did the embassy deal with it?

A friend of mine used family court order and applied in Laos. Wasn’t a problem and they were approved. I’m not sure which country you’re applying in, but it’s worked in Laos.
