Hello all received my LTR-P Visa. Seemed to be a little confusion at the airport when I arrived, e-visa in hand, but was all sorted in a matter of minutes. Also when I did my Tm30 in Pattaya they said come back the following day as they had no experience with them. Went to Siracha the following day since I was in that area and after a few photo copies I was in compliance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience arriving in Thailand with an LTR-P Visa, facing minor confusion at the airport which was quickly resolved. They also mention the process of registering their Tm30 in Pattaya, which required follow-up due to the staff's unfamiliarity with the new visa type. Other commenters appreciate the report, emphasizing the importance of printing the e-visa for easier processing and advising the user on the expected length of stay associated with the LTR Visa.

Thank you, all.

This is the post about the REPORT on what OP experienced. Please make your own post if you want to ask about LTR or whatever.

okay lets' sort this out for

You should get a 10 year VISA stamp that looks like this;

UNLESS you have a passport that expires during that 5 years when you're supposed to get stamped in for. Then you DO get the 10 year visa but only get an admitted until stamp good until your passport expires.

@Tod ********
all of your above is accurate.

10 year visa stamp + 5 year multiple re-entry + stamp limited by the expiry date of passport.

Possible Lonnie is confusing the multiple re-entry stamp for the 10 year visa stamp? Or a mistake was made at immigration?
Tod *********
@Todd ********
could be, but that's the first case I've heard of where someone got the LTR approved outside the country and then came in and had it inked in at passport control when they landed.

All the couple dozen people I know who got the LTR approved or are in the process are inside thailand now

I had thought they'd give them the 5 year entry stamp and then send them to Cham Churi Square here in Bangkok to get the visa inked in.

In unrelated news in the US the LTR is 1600USD at the embassies that issue it so that's 60,800 baht versus 50K inside thailand

@Tod ********
ah understood. That makes sense. Would have thought same. And very interesting about the cost. Had considered doing the process outside…
Tod *********
and you should get a 5 year entry stamp if you're flying in with an approved LTR eVisa (or if you're going to the One Stop Service Center at Cham Churi Square to get the visa and stay stamp inked in) AND you get a 5 year multiple re-entry stamp too

Excellent information, and my visa is 100% incorrect based on the above information. I will contact BOI and ask them how to correct.

or contact the LTR website

I would just GO to the One Stop Service Center at Cham Churi Square here in bangkok (although they're closed wed-thurs-fri for APEC)

Thank you for your report of your arrival into Thailand with the NEW LTR VISA...As you discovered, it's a new Thai Visa.

BUT the Thai Immigration Officers were helpful.

It's a good point for ALL of us who obtain any Evisa online.. print out a copy of it and carry it with you.

Enjoy your

year stamp into Thailand.

@James *******
thank you, I had, was surprised to see it didn’t require investment
James ********
@Shane *****
it does not... two years of proven income of US $80,000 or more gets you the 10 year LTR Visa...fee is 50,000 Thai baht.
Shane ******
@James *******
thank you, this appears to be a great option

80k in annual income, medical insurance. If less than 80k but more than 40k then 250k in investments in Thailand. This could be a condo for example.

@Lonnie *******
that condo may be a problem....try it.

Thanks again for your helpful report about your obtaining the LTR Visa.

It will tell you whether you are eligible for the New LTR Visa

@James *******
LTR recipients do actually receive a ten year stamp. And a multiple re-entry stamp that expires in 5 years. They are unsure of what may be required for re-issuance in 5 years...

@Todd ********
thank your for the clarification.

actually we are approved for 10 years but actually receive a 5 year stamp and as you stated it’s not clear what will be required to be issued the second 5 year stamp. What BOI told me was it would be confirmation that you still qualify hence income and medical insurance.
Todd *********
@Lonnie *******
what is the expiry on your stamp? It should be 2032

hmmm maybe I’ll take a trip to BOI and ask but from what I read I was expecting a 5 year stamp then ask for the second 5 year. Again this is so new there are bound to be glitches in the understanding of how it works.

@Lonnie *******
apologies for the personal question but in case you applied for the retirement LTR what prove ( letter ) did you submit to confirm that the funds are from pension? Because I really don’t know what do they expect..
James ********
@Iliana ******
suggest you ask the BOI Board of Investment in Thailand...as they are the ones reviewing the application process of the LTR Visa . And issue the approvals.
