I opened a BB account about 2 years ago with the help of an agent. My mobile app was suspended about 2 months ago because the Sim which I purchased at the airport doesn't seem to be registered in my name.
My question is will the bank just block you from using mobile banking app or do they actually just close your account after 30 days? The message on the app just said it was blocked but I don't remember seeing anything about the account being closed if I didn't correct the problem. The challenge is I'm living overseas and won't be back to Thailand for at least another 18 months.
Any guidance would be appreciate - thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing issues with their Bangkok Bank mobile app being suspended due to a mismatch between the registered name of their SIM card and their bank account. They inquired whether the bank would close their account after 30 days or simply block their mobile banking access. Responses from the community suggest that the app might only be suspended, allowing a chance to correct the issue by aligning the SIM card registration with the bank account. It's noted that until the user returns to Thailand and resolves the SIM card issue, their banking access remains affected, and they may not need to worry about account closure if the problem can be rectified.
