Why did my 90-day report result in a 55-day notice instead of the usual 90 days?

FYI: Did my 90-day report online on Jan 11 and the email stated my next report should be on March 7 - which is 55 days later, not 90 (!) but it is the date of my annual non-O extension. Looked like a system mistake to me, but not so as today I was required to file another 90-day report at Chiang Mai immigration. So 90 days can sometimes be 55 days :))) Watch out for this!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported an issue with their 90-day report, stating that despite completing the report online on January 11, they received a notice indicating their next report was due on March 7, which is only 55 days later. This date coincided with their annual non-O extension. Other commenters confirmed similar experiences with 90-day reports being modified to align with visa extension dates, leading to shorter reporting intervals than expected.

So ...for clarity ...the 90 day report now goes out to your next extension date. Following the next extension, you redo the 90 day and get 90 days (assuming that lies within your new extension period). ?

My next 90 day report is 14 days before my next extension date ๐Ÿ™„

It seems to be like this

IF your next 90 day report would be due AFTER your current stamp allowing you to stay they make it due on the date that stamp expires.

stupid question then Tod, which Im sure has been answered 1000 times before ...if I go 2 weeks early for my extension (samui) so can do the 90 day at the same time (rather than online as I intended) ...will my new extension date be from the 2 week earlier date of submission ...or from the expiry date of current extension ...ie will I'lose' a couple of weeks on the extension?

Thanks

if you're getting an extension for the same reason you have the stamp in your passport now it's added to the expiration date of your current stamp <- meaning you don't lose any days going early

@John *******
, it depends on the Immigration office.

Seeing your 90days reporting window is in your next extension application window, why don't go apply for an extension at least one week earlier than your extension expiry date and do both at once or ask IO then?

good plan

How long did your online 90 day report take to get approved?
Tod *********
I have seen that many times this last year. Your final 90 day report before your next extension date is only given up to the date your extension expires. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ That's just how they do it now (at many offices)

According to your stamp you have to leave Thailand on March 7, the day that counting of being inside Thailand stops as overstay is illegal.

So when you reported online your extension was until March 7, 2022 still. After that report, you applied for a new yearly extension. The best thing you can do is to bring the report receipt to your local immigration office and have them checked. Or do report online as the system says.

Nope, I already renewed my 1-year extension in late Jan - so this was rather confusing.

it's pretty simple. When you did your previous 90 day report you had 55 days left on your extension so that's why that date. You renewed your extension early but you didn't (couldn't) do a 90 report then. This is normal.

Changing the story? " March 7 - which is 55 days later, not 90 (!) but it is the date of my annual non-O extension. "

No. I simply renewed early.
