Yes and they have said that's how it will be from now on you have to go to the bank and get them to issue you a statement showing that it came in from outside the country. Not sure what the point of that was but not much anyone can do

mabey a idea just transfer directly from you home country account to thailand

and not use wise

ofcourse lose some money

butt you not face the big problems if cannot getting the correct

It's Kasikorn Bank also, they're showing wise transfers as just internet banking, remitly also. So seems like a Bank of Thailand issue

It is very annoying for my monthly retirement visa. I heard that with revolut, there would be no problem, it being transferred as international. Some feedback?

I'm not sure what's going wrong but most of the companies are just showing up as Internet banking or some other weird language but not International transfer

some of the low profile offices don't need the statement that it's International, they let you show earning statements to prove where it's coming from but very few, up here in Isan.

I understand that wise accept your money into their own system then transfer the equivalent amount from a banking system in Thailand. Perhaps as it's not a direct transfer like swift, the Bangkok Bank can't now identify it as an overseas transfer.

Correct, as it’s not, the money is coming from the Kasikorn Bank, that Wise use, so it transfers showing that it’s local, because it is. ✌️✌️✌️

I've got a Bangkok bank account with a bank book. So think IF I used it to deposit a large amount for retirement extension I'd use swift transfer. I've no idea if there's an issue with my account because I'm back in UK, I don't use the app, and won't know till I get back after Xmas.

Its ok, I'm not on the retirement visa or needing an extension so it won't really matter too much. I updated my bank book in June and if I'm back and going retirement route, I'd perhaps use scb.

I think you’ll be ok with any bank, just pop in and have a chat with any of the staff, many people think they should speak with the Manager, don’t undermine the staff. They are all there to help 🙏🙏🙏 Some people on Koh Samui, love to get on their “high horse” when they’ve not got a pot to pee in. Its life ✌️✌️✌️👍👍👍

lol. I went with my daughter in law last year and opened the account. She handled much of the new account procedure. I'd say her "style" was more scary than diplomatic. Lol. She wasn't impressed with the ticket system used to be seen by bank staff.

Bangkok bank get the money from kasikorn bank so it shows a domestic transfer, maybe the problem is with wise and not the banking system in Thailand.

They mistake the customer when you send money from overseas to Bangkok bank in Thailand they give the option for overseas transfer but indeed they make a local transfer. Did someone try to ask wise about it?

I opened a bank at Kasikorn Bank 3 weeks ago because of the locked account problems from Bangkok Bank, still locked by the way. Kasikorn Bank. I love the people are do nice my wise transfers from the usa go thru jn seconds Bangkok Bank was always the next day. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR SWITCH TO KASIKORN BANK, WHY STAY WITH BANGKOK BANK, LOOK AT THE WSY THEY HAVE TREATED YOU. THEY ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS THEY ARE TREATING THEIR CUSTOMERS. I opened an account at krungsri after finding my BB account locked, no hassle 15 minute process. When my BB account unlocked I will end my business with them, they have breached fiduciary trust, that’s unforgivable.

really there was only one bank in Thailand opened bank account with tourist visa(with bribes).Thats why now problem started with them.This will effect or not other banks we will see.

local transfer..only way would be to transfer directly from ur uk bank ..my cost from uk to kasikorn is appx 500 thb total ..200 thb kasikorn to receive it £7 uk bank appx 300 thb to send it

Yip this month everyone's the same.. I asked Bangkok bank yesterday for September statement. They refused. This is gona cause so much hassle if don't get correct paperwork now. These transfers were routed thru Kasikorn by Wise. Read something we need go Kasikorn for paperwork, how many guys are not Kasikorn holders and Kasikorn need now deal with this .

Not quite sure what you mean. This transfer is from my Australian bank account via Wise to my Thai bank account and it shows as international transfer

transfers appear to have been rerouted by Wise through Kbank. Caused by Wise not Bangkok Bank.

I posted regarding this subject a week ago. Wise responded we will need to go to Kbank for proof of foreign transfer

BB can only trace where the money came from. They cannot mark it as a foreign transfer. They would be falsifying data. Op needs to get his act together.

utter nonsense. They have changed the process. They always used an intermediary and the K bank account the money comes from is recognised as the wise local account for inward FTT. They changed the process and refuse now to annotate the remittance as FTT. Of course it BBL who are responsible for this change.
