Are Thai banks closed during New Year, affecting Wise transfers?

I transfer money from Wise to Bangkok Bank before 7am Thai time. It's aways in my account the same day around 2.15pm.

Same it said 5hrs and later 5days...

31, 1 and 2 are holidays

Bangkok bank has been shit since a year ago with wise, it's lucky dip on the day on when you'll receive, other Thai banks is more reliable for instant transfers

Its the holiday season 🎶 🎵

Just an idea

If you do a transfer after 1000 and you need it to show up as a Foreign transfer it will not arrive until the following day. The banks here have to do it manually. As already stated banks are closed from tomorrow until Monday.

Wise sometimes in minutes sometimes in days and I can’t figure out how it decides. Last transfer took 5 days.

I've used wise for 2 years, Barclays UK, to kasikorn, 7 seconds

Peter Barrett Just in case your Immigration wants to see that the money came from abroad, it will become a bit complicated.

If you want to use WISE, they have discontinued the old way that a certain choice of reason for the transfer would show in your bankbook coded as coming from abroad.

They don't offer this any more, for the last step they use their own Kasikorn account, so if you use WISE, it would show as having come from inside Thailand.

You can however get a special statement from the Kasikorn bank to on the relevant transfer. .

the other option would be a direct SWIFT transfer from your home bank to your Thai bank - the exchange rate would not be that good, but it would 100% be coded as having come from abroad

I just transferred some 2 hrs ago. Received within a few minutes. Banks will be closed on the 1st & 2nd for the New Year like many Countries..

I did transfer to SCB in 5 min

I did a transfer at 14.30 and Baht was in my Kasikorn account in less than 30 seconds

Just looked on wise, said it would be seconds

Transferred 2 separate payments from wise to kasikorn this morning, received in seconds.

I bailed on Wise and use Remitly now - I get my money into BKK in seconds, every time. Rates aren't quite as good as Wise though. Wise has been so slow recently!

Time to use SCB? Most of the time money appear in my wife's account after 2-3 mins

I did a wise transfer yesterday wirh wise ans I got my money today you are doing it in New Eve so I would say that is why. Well at least wise to Bangkok bank

Bangkok Bank transfer always takes 24 hours. Next 3 days banks are closed for Thai New Year so Mon 5th is correct.

Bank Holidays have been extended till next Monday... They added extra days to take in the weekend.
