ORIGINAL POSTER
request for further documents on DTV type

i submitted all documents (payslip, proof of residence, bank statement, work contract). (Thai embassy vienna via website "thaievisa")

3 days later i got the request to submit additional documents

Other request documents (The DTV will be considered for remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers, and participants in certain cultural activities. Please upload a cover letter specifying which category you align with.”

what could be the reason, since i already provided my work contract.

* because the 100 % remote work is not explicitly mentioned im the work contract?

* from your experience, was the specific mentioning of 100% remote work required ?

* is an explicit cover letter next to the work contract required?

thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The request for additional documents is likely due to the work contract not explicitly stating that the applicant is permitted to work remotely from Thailand. Many users report that including a cover letter affirming remote work status can strengthen the application. It's advisable to obtain a letter from the employer clearly stating that remote work is allowed, ideally specifying that work can be performed from Thailand.

bring a letter of your company that is ONLY meant to approve your remote work. many blueprints online already.

Your work contract (or work certification) should state that you are eligible for remote working, and even better if it says in Thailand
Biff *******
Contract will say remote work. Letter would specify remote work from Thailand.

I provided a cover letter that specified the visa type I was applying for, the company I work for, the role (remote), length of employment and included my contract.

They then asked for the business registration for the company I work for. I got that online.

Because contract probably does not say remote work. Get a letter from employer stating that you are permitted to work from any country worldwide including Thailand

I do not think your remote work has to be 100%. A letter stating you can work remotely from Thailand is that others I know supplied. This was even though it was their own company and they were writing as Directors about themselves.

Just write a letter explaining your role and how its a remote role and your resume could help.

Partner received a request

for Resume, portfolio and letter even though the work contract was supplied, which clearly states Remote Work on it.

For this request, we provided the resume and a letter explaining the role.
