TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on finding contacts for obtaining an ED visa (Education Visa) in Thailand. Participants recommend various language schools, such as Duke Language School and Oriental Bamboo Language School, and share personal experiences about enrollment and classes. Key information includes the cost of the ED visa ranging from 50,000 baht and the importance of attending a recognized school to avoid issues with future visa applications, such as the Thai Elite Visa.

Any school in Korat?

I can't seem to find it but there was a post (not sure if it was this group) but someone who applied for a Thai Elite Visa said that he/she was not allowed to apply for Elite because the ED visa they had before was from a school that was not officially recognised. I can't remember the official term for it but if you want to apply for Elite in the future, make sure your ED visa is an officially recognised school. If any of the group experts want to correct me or clarify, I'd be happy to know more also.
the prices range from 50k baht upwards. You can’t put a price on good education, IMO. To get the ED Visa with duke, you need to do at least an 8 month term.
Duke is well respected.. But doesn't work for everyone. They use the immersion method of teaching. If you didn't already they should allow you to sit in on a class before enrolling. They have classes online still too.. If you want to try another same building is ALA, good school still but doesn't use immersion method.
thanks for the information Charles. Yes, they allow you to sit in and see how they work. There is also an example class online, a video, you can watch and see their style of teaching. From what I have seen, it shall work for me. I guess we will find out in January. Cheers.
